The apostle Paul said,\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain\" (Philippians 1:21). Both men were looking ahead to death with calm assurance. They knew that this life is only a dressing room for eternity.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Jesus said, \"I am the resurrection and the life. Death need not be a bitter end-it can be a bright dawning.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e   ASSURANCE IN LIFE- AND IN DEATH\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Christ is alive! And because he is alive, that makes all the difference in the world. In his resurrection, evil has been defeated, love has conquered hate, death has lost its sting, and Satan has been defeated. In his death on the cross, Christ declared that the full penalty for sin has been paid. And one day all of creation will burst forth into a new song.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Christ is alive! The early Christians proclaimed that truth. They believed that the same power that raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will work in and through us to rescue us from our doubts, our darkness, our failure, and even our death.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e As we look at the world today we cannot help but be disturbed by what is happening. But the resurrection of Christ tells us, as his followers, that we need not press the panic button. It is true that we are concerned and burdened, and it is certain that we are going to die, but we do not cry in terror as others do.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The day before John Hus, a fifteenth-century martyr condemned for his faith in Christ, was to be burned at the stake, he wrote, \"I write this in prison and in chains, expecting tomorrow to receive the sentence of death-full of hope in God that I shall not swerve from the truth.\"\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Is this hope, peace, and joy yours? Can you face death with a smile, with full confidence that you are going into the presence of Christ? Our sin separates us from God, our Creator. But because of his love for us, God acted by providing the resolution for that dilemma-Jesus Christ's willing death to pay our sin-debt to God. Christ suffered once for sins, \"the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God\" (1 Peter 3:18).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Today you can know the power of the resurrection in your own life by truly believing what the Bible says about knowing God: \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e RECOGNIZE that without Christ you are separated from God, now and forever. \"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God\" (Romans 3:23). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e REALIZE that God loves you, and believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins. \"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life\" (John 3:16).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e RECEIVE the risen Savior into your life by faith. \"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God\" (John 1:12). \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e You can experience a changed life made possible all because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
