rying depth), and consider some theological consequences. These are augmented by three appendices and three indexes.\r\n\r\nBorland relies on two key arguments: that God the Father is always invisible, and that the Angel of the Lord must be Jesus. Both ideas have long been held, but each can be challenged. Indeed, Borland himself demonstrates that neither is certain. So his overall conclusion becomes more tentative than he intends. Still, it's a good summary of how this interpretation is argued.\r\n\r\nEven the original edition was quite archaic, using many nineteenth-century sources and the KJV text. The 1999 edition (and the new reprint) offers little updating. So the study is increasingly of historical rather than contemporary interest.\r\n\r\nDisappointingly, the reprint fails to rectify many previous printing errors. Indeed, it even introduces some new ones - especially the failure to correctly print Greek words.
