Gospel of Mark in Barkly English
Booklet 2025-08-01
Book Synopsis: Most of the modern translations of the Bible use words that are not easily understood by Aboriginal people living in the Northern Territory, and particularly those who live in the Barkly Tablelands area. God’s story in the book of Mark was written in the Greek language. When we wrote Mark in Barkly English, we checked with the Greek New Testament all the time. We also checked with a lot of different modern translations to make sure we got all the stories straight. To make sure that this book was written the right way, all the words, cross references and pictures have been checked by a translation consultant. We pray that when people read this book they will understand how God made a way for people to come into his family.
