I found the essay on the examination of the archaeological evidence for places described or mentioned in John's Gospel particularly interesting given the historical skepticism that is focused on this gospel. The essay provided strong support for the historicity of John's gospel. Also included is a handful of black-and-white photographs (colour would be nicer), a selected bibliography, an index of scripture and other ancient texts, and a glossary. Overall, this is the definitive text about what the latest archaeological findings (up to 2005, 2006) tell us of Jesus and the time in which he lived.
