Jesus is Lord
Donald MacleodLarge Format Paperback 1970-01-01
The deity of Jesus has been questioned by many theologians. In this volume Donald Macleod considers crucial evidence for the deity of Jesus. Macleod begins by examining three important descriptions from the New Testament itself: 'God over all', 'Jesus is Lord' and 'The Son of Man'. Then he surveys the influence of Arianism, including the effect it had on the famous hymnwriter Isaac Watts and on the well-known author Philip Doddridge. He follows this with a chapter on the doctrine of the Incarnation in Scottish theology where he responds to such theologians as Donald Baillie, James Denney and T. F. Torrance. The final two chapters consider the Christologies of Jurgen Moltmann and Wolfhart Pannenberg. Donald Macleod is also the author of The Person of Christ, Behold Your God, The Spirit of Promise, Shared Life, and A Faith to Live By.
