Manta Panya Godaly Kalkuntjalakutu Ankunytja (On the Way to the Promised Land): Children’s Bible Series - Pitjantjatjara
Booklet 2024-06-01
This is the Old Testament story in Pitjantjatjara about the Israelites finding their way back to the promised land. Long before this story, God told Abraham to go to the land that he would lead them to and promised that his children and all their descendants would grow into a great nation, Israel. Many years later, there was a great famine and the Israelites went to Egypt where they were enslaved and treated badly. Their leader, Moses, led them out of Egypt to find their freedom. On their travels God provided food and water. On Mount Sinai, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments to guide the people. Despite hardships and complaints, Moses continued to lead them for 40 years. Because of their lack of faith, they wandered in the desert, but God always took care of them. At the end of the journey, they finally reached the Promised Land.
