The visual book of Matthew changed my view of Jesus Christ. I saw Him in this portrayal for the first time as a human man, vital, full of life and truly one of us.

this is a fantasic dvd. Biblical and informative and entertaining! Love it.

I LOVE this DVD and watch it at least twice a year (I've had my copy for many years). It is the Gospel of Matthew entirely from the NIV, meaning, except for Matthew's introduction, it is word for word, from the NIV Bible, not a word left out and not a word added. as a Man of Joy. It opened my eyes! We have been given a staid impression of Jesus, but Bruce Marchiano's expressions and actions accompanying his words 'say' so much! Love oozes out of him and his compassion is obvious, particularly his last confrontation with authorities just before his arrest. Matthew brings Jesus to life! It is 2 DVDs with chapter and verse displayed in the bottom corner. Each chapter can be chosen from the menu if you want to study it and you can choose to have captions or not. Matthew helps us understand the people, and situations Jesus experienced. The way he deals with the Pharisees and Sadducees is brilliant. It is rich in expression, particularly with Jesus actions - you can't help but love Him. I highly recommend this DVD. The more you watch it, the more you remember and the more you know Jesus intimately. My favourite scene is how Jesus invites Matthew with the 2 words "Follow Me".
