Marketing maven Kate Sherwood's world is fast-paced, challenging, and always changing. The last thing she wants to do is slow down to a crawl at Rainbow's End, a dilapidated resort in the Texas Hill Country. But she cannot deny her ailing grandmother's request to visit the place where she and her deceased husband spent one glorious week (albeit fifty years ago). There Kate meets Greg Vange, the resort's handyman. But there's more to Greg than meets the eye--billions more, in fact, as he recently sold his successful software company and is at the resort in search of what's next for his life.
Kate isn't looking for romance, but she can't deny the sparks of attraction that fly every time she and Greg are together. She even starts to see potential in the rundown resort. Could there be a future there? Or will Kate's long-sought promotion take her back to the big city?
Amanda Cabot invites readers to step away from the pressures of the daily grind. They might be surprised by what they find at Rainbow's End.

It is good to read a novel where the characters are not totally focused on themselves. I like the emerging idea that we should seek God's will for our lives. There still seems to be approval for doing what makes a person happy in the sub plot of Kate's grandmother, but all things considered, it was a relaxing read.

Fun new series!
Aww! After reading this, I want to go to Rainbow's End resort! It sounds so perfect, including the dark ages' technology, or lack of. But seriously, this story was so sweet. I loved the small (albeit growing) town charm, the way it's a step back from the fast-paced reality of so many of our lives and the characters. They were beautiful. So many stories with so many layers. It was a slower-paced book than many others I've read but that really fit the story so was more relaxing than frustrating. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good, small-town, big city character-ed romance.

Sweet romance
I enjoyed this gentle story. Covering the thoughts and romances of both the main character, Kate, and her grandmother at the same time and place was fun. I loved the small town experience and caring relationships between the residents. The ending wasn't as predictable as I thought which made it even more satisfying to read.

Familiar author, new genre
I have previously read Amanda Cabot's historical romance series, so I was interested to see what she did with a contemporary romance. I loved it. There was humour, particularly in the form of sweet old grandma, reliving a wonderful week spent at Bluebonnet Lake with her deceased husband, fifty years ago! She revisits the Rainbow's End resort with her granddaughter, Kate Sherwood, who has trouble facing life in the country, after success in her fast-paced city life. Grandma and Rainbow's End are both a little worse for wear, keeping handyman Greg Vange busy keeping up with them. Romance sparks like fireflies around the lake, but you'll have to read for yourself how things work out. You wont regret it.
