As the nephew of Benny Hinn, Costi Hinn has an insider's account of how the prosperity gospel works. His story is both encouraging in showing how God rescued him out of it and shocking in how it exposes the movement he came out of.

Eye opener
Very engaging read - from start to finish. Costi speaks of his experience as a child growing up as a nephew of Benny Hinn and how his view of Christianity was influenced as a result of prosperity preaching. The final chapter/s have tools on how to discern and counter prosperity teaching.

sincere and personal
C. Hinn writes this book as a story of how he became Christian and left the prosperity gospel movement. Compared to his earlier book (Hinn & Wood, 2018), this is more personal: it focuses less on the historical or theological roots of the prosperity gospel movement, and instead gives insight into the events surrounding Hinn's life while he was in the movement. If Hinn's experience may be assumed to be typical of those in the movement, then this book is recommended reading for those in groups that are typically labelled as being part of the prosperity gospel movement. As a personal story, it is less confronting than most books that are critical of the issue, but it might resonate with the doubts and fears of many.
