What a week of celebrations!
From our week-long Grand Opening Sale and an incredible line-up of author signings, to our official opening and a fun-filled Saturday for families, it was wonderful to welcome so many of you through the doors of our brand-new Koorong Melrose Park store.

A Week of Grand Opening Celebrations
Throughout Grand Opening Week, customers had the opportunity to explore our beautiful new store and enjoy our special Grand Opening Sale, alongside a packed program of events, special guests and activities.
We were thrilled to welcome an incredible line-up of authors for book signings throughout the week, including Naomi Reed, Carolyn Miller, Matt Dodd, Dave Jensen, Steph Penny, Jennifer Eades, Chris Morphew, Raewyn Elsegood and Jo-Anne Berthelsen.
We were also joined by a fantastic group of Matthias Media authors: Ian Carmichael, Lionel Windsor, Tony Payne, Kel Richards, Al Stewart, Patricia Weerakoon, Jocelyn Loane and Craig Hamilton.
A huge thank you to all our visiting authors for generously giving their time and helping make our opening week so special.
Officially Opening the Doors at Melrose Park
On Thursday, we marked the official opening of Koorong Melrose Park with a special gathering of pastors, ministry leaders and members of our community.
The morning included the official ribbon cutting and cake cutting, along with remarks from Koorong CEO Lesley Glass as we celebrated this important milestone and looked ahead to the future of Koorong at Melrose Park.
“My prayer and vision for Koorong is for the next generation to be excited to learn, to immerse themselves in God’s Word and Christian literature, and to be equipped for life. My prayer is also for older Christians to be renewed and encouraged to come back to reading Christian material.
The word ‘Koorong’ means ‘watering hole’, and I would love this store to be just that: a place where people can come, rest, be rejuvenated and immerse themselves in Christian resources.”

We were also delighted to welcome Sydney pastors and ministry leaders for a special gathering, featuring a message from author and evangelist Dave Jensen from the Sydney Diocese.
It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate not only the opening of a new store, but Koorong's ongoing mission to faithfully serve our customers, support the Church and equip people with trusted Christian resources.
Family Fun to Finish the Week
We finished Grand Opening Week with a huge Family Fun Day on Saturday, and it was wonderful to see the store buzzing with families and visitors throughout the day.
Hope 103.2 broadcast live from the store all day, adding to the celebrations, while customers enjoyed prize giveaways, cake and jellybeans, and plenty of activities for the kids.
Our younger visitors enjoyed face painting, balloon animals, hourly storytime and our lucky dip gacha machine, while author signings and giveaways continued throughout the day.
It was the perfect way to finish an incredible week.
