John Owen
John Owen (1616–1683) was an English Puritan theologian, pastor, scholar, and one of the most influential Reformed writers of the seventeenth century. Educated at Oxford, he later served as vice-chancellor of the university and became a leading voice among English Nonconformists. Owen wrote extensively on sin, sanctification, the work of Christ, the Holy Spirit, communion with God, and the Christian life. His works are known for their theological depth and close engagement with Scripture. Titles such as The Mortification of Sin and The Death of Death in the Death of Christ continue to shape Reformed theology and Christian discipleship today.
