Moralistic, Mythical and Mysticism Religions (#02 in World Religion & Cults Series)$29.99$22.50
Of the three volumes in this series, vol. 2 has helped me the most to be aware of the wide variety of religions around today. This book surveys many religions that the typical reader (at least, in my mostly Western context) might not be exposed to: Jainism, Wicca, Druidism, etc. At the same time, this book upholds the basic premise of the series: all religions that are not God's are merely variations of the same kind. The discussion of each religion shows how, despite the peculiarities they may have, they are ultimately some form of Man's religion. This book follows the usual format of the series--an overview followed by several stand-alone chapters--but the reader who (like myself) is unfamiliar with many worldviews covered here might benefit most from reading this book once through.
