The Forgetful Prince
Matt Redmond, Lauren RedmondPaperback 2024-03-01
The Forgetful Prince tells the story of Atticus, a boy who is happy and clever but experiences a problem: he keeps forgetting the most important part of who he is — a prince! As he journeys through a jungle filled with colour and wonder, animal friends along the way help to remind him of his true identity.
This beautifully illustrated book helps children aged 3 to 7 to know and remember the truth we read in the Bible: that God is good, his children are precious to him, and they have a very special place in his kingdom.
Also features notes for readers to encourage conversation and reflection.

Endorsements:
“When will the forgetful prince remember who he is? And who will show him? In the tradition of children's classics like Where the Wild Things Are, The Forgetful Prince is as powerful as it is simple. The prince may be forgetful, but young readers will not forget his story - nor the striking illustrations that accompany it.” – Michael Jensen, RECTOR ST MARK’S DARLING POINT, AUTHOR, SPEAKER, LECTURER
“In Matt Redmond’s whimsical tale, things are not as they appear - or feel - to Atticus. It can be the same for us, in our big and little lives. Join Atticus on his colourful quest as he meets unlikely friends who lead him - and us - to treasure, truth - and The King! The Forgetful Prince is an engaging and imaginative story you’re sure to enjoy reading together. But it’s also a story that teaches. And I think stories that can do both those things are the best stories of all.” – Colin Buchanan, CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINER, SONGWRITER AND AUTHOR
“There is nothing more magnificent than the gospel message, and we must not tire of telling it. What better way than with story? The Forgetful Prince captures the essence and beauty of the gospel in a heart-warming and child-friendly way. I look forward to reading it with children- for their edification and mine.” – Archie Poulos, HEAD, MINISTRY DEPARTMENT, MOORE THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE, NEWTOWN.
“Our children's self-worth can be so easily eroded by the cacophony of messaging they are inevitably exposed to in our digital world. The Forgetful Prince is the endearing and gentle story of a child's journey from self-doubt to the comfort of true belonging with a heavenly father. In a world where identity can be 'up for grabs', this is an important and hope-filled message.” – Leisa Aitken, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST, HOPE RESEARCHER, AND A FELLOW OF THE CENTRE FOR PUBLIC CHRISTIANITY (CPX).
