Cecily Faire has a secret?and she intends to keep it. But when she arrives at Willowgrove Hall to serve as a lady's companion, she comes face-to-face with the only person who knows the truth about her past.

As the steward of Willowgrove Hall, Nathaniel Stanton is dedicated to serving those around him. Nothing escapes his notice?including the beautiful new lady's companion. When Willowgrove's mistress dies, everything changes. Fear of exposure forces Cecily to leave under the cover of darkness, embarking on a journey to finally find her long-lost sister. When the will is read, Nathaniel's inheritance makes him question his future plans. Cecily and Nathaniel are forced to make decisions that will change the course of their lives. Is their love strong enough to survive?

    a delightful regency read

This was my first time reading this author, but it certainly won't be my last! It was a delightfully sweet love story that really brought to life the regency era.

    Intriguing romance

Like the previous book in this series, this story was a good reminder of the second chances God gives us in life and love as the characters come to the realisation - and acceptance - that who we are today isn't despite what we've been through but because of it. It was an intriguing story with some really well-developed characters. \\r\\n

    Insightful

This story would be a good one to share with young people as they face the temptation that the world gives. Sarah very vividly portrays Cecily's regret over poor choices made when she was younger. Beliefs from the time period are also interesting. \\r\\n

    Excellent regency novel

As with Sarah E Ladd's other two novels in this series I couldn't put it down. It captured my interest right from the beginning. I would recommend this and any of her books. Can't wait for her next novel!
