Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier if she hid in her older sister's shadow--which worked until her sister got married. Even with thepressure of her socially ambitious mother, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience to save her previously spotless reputation.

Lord Trent Hawthorne couldn't be happier that he is not the duke in the family. He's free to manage his small estate and take his time discovering the life he wants to lead, which includes grand plans of wooing and falling in love with the woman of his choice. When he finds himself honor bound to marry a woman he doesn't know, his dream of a marriage like his parents' seems lost forever.

Already starting their marriage on shaky ground, can Adelaide and Trent's relationship survive the pressures of London society?

    Disappointing and Misleading

The man acts nothing like the author portrayed him in other books and basically sulks through almost half the book. I hate men who aren't nice to their wives (not a fan of Jane Eyre). I had to relearn how to like this guy once he finally got a clue. \\nIt covers a certain topic in more detail than I think is appropriate in a Christian novel, or it should at least have some kind of warning on it. \\nI think the author had a good idea about two people learning how to love each other but poorly executed it. Very disappointing.

    Love the story line

I love the story line. The """"wedding first then slowly falling in love while married"""" story plot is beautiful, predictable (which I love) and real to the setting's era. The characters are adorable, shy and fun. An Uncommon Courtship gives an endearing glimpse into the courting rituals and expectations of the day, as well as christian values in marriage. I would recommend this book to all historical romance lovers. I also like that the characters from previous books in the series are included in the story.

    Starting at the end!

I got given this book and didn't realise that it was the 3rd in the Hawthorne House series. \\r\\nI don't feel that I missed out on previous stories, which is a sign of a good writer. \\r\\nLord Hawthorne and Lady Adelaide start their life together most awkwardly but with searching and heeding wisdom they find their footing. \\r\\nI found some of the moments funny and felt their embarrassment in others. \\r\\nI hope you enjoy this story. Now to read books 1 and 2!!
