When Annie Fletcher returns to Charleston to see her younger sister, Sarah, receive her master's degree, she finds herself riding in the back of an ambulance, watching helplessly as Sarah fights for life. During the ride, Sarah appears to talk to someone who is not there, humming a melody Annie has never heard before.

Neighbor Ethan McKinney is there to lend a shoulder when Sarah unexpectedly dies. And as a carpenter, Ethan volunteers to help Annie get the Fletcher family home into shape for selling. Ethan's presence is distracting, but what troubles Annie is her neighbor Tammy's 12-year-old son. Keith has Down Syndrome and the guile to believe he can see and hear angels. ?God begins to reveal Himself to Annie - both in her newfound friends and through heart-rending and clearly supernatural events. Annie discovers faith in God, finally experiencing the comfort that His angels really do supply.

A book that hooks you in

I began reading Angel Song prepared to not like it. Those who know me well know that I read almost exclusively non-fiction. I find good fiction books engaging ? to the point of ignoring my other responsibilities ? and as a mother of four children I just can?t afford that kind of time ?off?. I find poorly written books a complete waste of time. I don?t even go near the fiction section of a book store, unless it?s the children?s section. \\r\\n\\r\\nI was pleasantly surprised to discover that my fears were unfounded. Angel Song is an engaging read and it?s short chapters were perfect for squeezing in a little reading here and there. . \\r\\n\\r\\nWhile the story line wasn?t as predictable as I had thought, I did finish the book feeling that the ending was rushed and ultimately unsatisfying.
