    Well . . . I finished it

As a writer myself, I was more interested in this book than I imagine a lot of other people would be. Jane Kirkpatrick offered quite a bit of insight into both the writing process, and the publishing journey, especially the arduous task of self-promotion when a book is self published. And she did it in a light-hearted, comical way, almost slapstick. I've never liked slapstick. Also, as a non-American, non-Oprah watcher/lover, I didn't understand or even realise the attraction that getting noticed by Oprah really was, so much of the drive and motivation of the book was lost on me. But my interest as a writer kept me reading and the ending was satisfactory, although without a lot of faith development in the characters.
