The first part of this book was confronting and hard to get through. It was all about the trauma she'd endured as a child (in detail), and doesn't start giving advice about raising you own family in a Christian way until quite far in. Once there, I found it to be pretty common sense stuff. There were two good chapters about disconnecting from your family of origin to place your allegiance with your new spouse, while still honouring your parents (that's a tricky one). This book didn't really resonate with me, but it might be great for someone else. Everyone's on a different walk.
