    Nice Series Conclusion

What a nice conclusion to the series. Themes and cases are followed through quite realistically. Journeying alongside Woody, Luke and Abby, I enjoyed solving crimes and being in the middle of the action. Unfortunately, I do give it only 4 stars as some situations came across as rather rushed. Luke and Abby, as soon as knowing that neither were involved in a relationship, developed theirs really quickly, but I guess that's what happens amidst unspoken tension. They did seem to be in their own bubble, however this is a mystery novel, so I can look past it. Every character, case, and circumstance is not accidental and I enjoyed connecting the dots. The thrill of the cases brought me on edge at times and kept me interested. I appreciated the unexpected ending for it shows that God is the real judge and will ensure justice accordingly. Justice is not ours to avenge, and I believe we all need to be reminded of this. A satisfying series conclusion.

    Unputdownable

Janice Cantore has pulled off a near perfect trilogy of crime fiction cold case novels with her last book in the series 'Catching Heat' living up to all the expectations that were built with the previous two books. A realistic and timely plot line will have you in the thick of action as the twists and turns unfold and I particularly loved Luke's PI character and how his feelings played out for Detective Hart.
