After looking for some depression era historical fiction, I found the Pearl Spence series. So glad I bought all three at once, because once I started this series I didn't stop! \\r\\nThey're beautiful, following the life of ten year old Pearl Spence and her family in Red River, OK during the Dust Bowl period. \\r\\nA Cup Of Dust is mingled with sorrow, uncertainty and fear. . . but also the love of family, hope and trust. \\r\\nIt may be a hard read if you're pregnant or suffering anxiety, as it's very emotional. But if you can handle that, definitely read this series. Susie Finkbeiner creates such realistic characters, whom you feel as if you personally know, as you read her novels.
