    Great story

Nice book for children of a range of ages. There are a couple of sentences for each double page, so is suitable for young kids but the messages are ones that older kids would really appreciate too. It is certainly a book that can be used to start conversations. The story is written by an Aussie. The pictures are very simple but bright and colourful. In short, this books describes when Peter denies knowing Jesus! This books is part of a series, and there is an immediate sequel to this story (Peter and the Big Breakfast).

    Helpful intro to Peter

Peter and the Rooster is part 1 of a 2 part series (""""Peter and The Big Breakfast"""" being Part 2). It provides a good, simple summary of Peter's denial which is great for introducing young readers to the events of the bible. However, I feel that the light hearted images, though enjoyable to look at, actually take away from the full gravity of the story's emotions. Still worth a read though!

    Perfect for Easter

Peter is brave. Chickens are not. Only Peter's also human and while he bravely told Jesus he'd never deny him, he did just that. The story of Peter's denial of Jesus told by some chickens. It's a powerful story, although an unfinished one as it ends with Peter crying and Jesus still on his way to be killed. Great story, brightly brilliant pictures, a really wonderful story to read together with your kids to remind them that not all of Jesus' followers are brave - but don't stop with this story! Peter and the Big Breakfast follows it directly and tells the rest of the story.

An old story in a new way

This book tells the story of Peter in a funny way. It gives new life to an old story. It is a good story for parents to read to their children at Easter. It can also show that we don't always do what we think we will, like Peter who said he would die for Jesus but ended up denying Jesus.

    Questionable reading

This book is disappoining for The Lost Sheep's series. The second sentence says """"You can tell that Peter is brave because he has a tattoo. """" This isn't setting a good example for children.
