Is discipline something you do to your kids-or something you do for them?Biblical discipline is holistic; its ultimate goal is a child's growth in the Lord. That means that the gospel does much more than plug nicely into a discipline program. The gospel is true discipline's driving force, turning parental instruction and training into a rich, transformative part of daily life. And that doesn't happen just by accident.Written by a mom on the front lines, For the Love of Discipline takes short chapters to work through typical discipline issues from a gospel perspective. Along the way, Sara offers personal examples, teaches practical strategies, and shows how to pursue "discipline skills" every day. Moms will stop spinning their wheels in quick fixes and behavior management and find renewed strength in God's own gracious shepherding and love.

    Wise advice for gospel-shaped parenting

This book makes an encouraging and compelling read for parents of younger children. It will help you to step back and consider how the gospel might shape your approach to raising children. \\r\\n\\r\\nWhile our children are young, we have a window of opportunity to guide them with love. Sara Wallace emphasises that discipline is not just about a change of behaviour, but a change of heart. When our children disobey, it gives us a chance to see what's in their heart, and lead them to the cross of Jesus. \\r\\n\\r\\nThis book doesn't focus on consequences or punishments, but on how we can train and teach our children in daily life. As Wallace writes,""""Discipline is not something we do to our kids, but something we do for them. It is a lifestyle. It doesn't need its own category; it's woven all throughout family life. But it doesn't happen by accident. """" (p. 11)\\r\\n\\r\\nWallace writes in an honest, personal style and strikes a great balance between theory and practical application.
