The release of the landmark first edition of *God, Marriage, and Family* provided an integrated, biblical treatment of God's purposes for the home. Since then, explain authors Andreas Köstenberger and David Jones, the crisis confronting modern households has only intensified, and yet the solution remains the same: obedience to and application of God's Word.

In the second edition of *God, Marriage, and Family*, Köstenberger and Jones explore the latest controversies, cultural shifts, and teachings within both the church and society and further apply Scripture's timeless principles to contemporary issues. This new edition includes an assessment of the family-integrated church movement; discussion of recent debates on corporal punishment, singleness, homosexuality, and divorce and remarriage; new sections on the theology of sex and the parenting of teens; and updated bibliographies. This book will prove to be a valuable resource for personal and group study, Christian counseling, and marriage and family courses.

    Biblically and theologically solid

This book was one of the required textbooks for marriage and family course during my time at the seminary. Professor required this book to provide us with a solid biblical foundation about marriage and family. This is an excellent book for this purpose. The second required book was more practical in nature so they would complement each other. For anyone studying this subject I would recommend this approach. Read this book to learn what bible has to say about topics of marriage and family and read another more practical book which who provide more specific information for everyday situations.

Excellent biblical approach to the topics raised.

This is not just an opinion filled book about various topics but careful analysis of what God says about a topic through His Word. \\r\\nThe authors have done a great job of looking at the big picture of the bible and also the individual sections to see what can be understood across the broad range of topics. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe focus is on what Scripture says about the issues without bowing to current political correctness. They present a range of views on various topics and how each view is defended, including areas of disagreement within evangelical Christianity. The authors are not afraid to address issues including divorce and remarriage, homosexuality, singleness, sex, and birth control. \\r\\nAlthough they do present a conclusion at the end of each chapter the information given allows the reader to make his or her own informed decision which may disagree with their findings on some issues. \\r\\n\\r\\nIt does contain some technical discussion within some of the topics but that does not overpower the book and should not be off putting to the reader. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe footnotes and bibliography are exceptionally detailed and comprehensive which enables further investigation of the issues raised. \\r\\n\\r\\nOverall, definitely recommended as both a book to read and also a reference book for the shelf when an issue is raised and a biblical response is required.
