    Not healthy healing

    After finding out my husband had committed adultery, I was looking for help. Unfortunately, 'Healing a Broken Marriage"""" hasn't assisted me in the healing process at all. \\r\\nMy first concern with this book is on page 3 of the Introduction. Deborah sets out Eight Important Action Steps, and the sub-headings I agree with. It's her theology in the details that's wonky. Action Step 2 is Read the Bible -I completely support this, as a sure foundation for knowing the heart of God. But when Deborah uses John 1:1 to back up her statement,""""Every time you read your Bible, you are actually reading God!"""" I object. The Word referred to in John 1:1 is Jesus not Scripture. \\r\\nMy second concern arose when the only reference made to the woman Deborah's husband had his adulterous relationship with is """"Satan's whore"""". I'm disturbed that Deborah speaks about forgiveness but uses such powerfully offensive language towards someone she is called to forgive. \\r\\nBut my greatest objection is when Deborah discusses the situation where someone is a Christian but still commits adultery (her husband wasn't at the time he committed adultery). Deborah promptly places herself in the judgment seat and states that it's very likely an adulterer has never been a Christian. She states,""""I believe a person who is truly born again has insurance against following after a sinful lifestyle. """" There's no biblical reference here and I can't think of a place where Scripture assures us that we…
