It's a while since I read the other two books in this series, but it all came back to me once I got into Hope Rekindled. Tracie Peterson does a great job of combining historical issues such as racism and votes for women etc, with faith lessons, romance, suspense and mystery. Some of the issues have been drawn out over all three books in the series, which certainly need to be read in order. Its very satisfying to have all the loose ends tied up in the end. This is not really one of those series that focus on a different couple in each book. Everyone is involved all the way, which keeps the drama happening. Well worth the read.

Some might say its a bit predictable, but I really love heart warming story that the unwinds in this """"Striking A Match"""" series. Best if read in order.
