How to Be Rich by pastor Andy Stanley explores 1 Timothy 6:18. Andy biblically redefines what wealth is, how to use it, and helps you practice being rich so you will be good at it if you should ever be so fortunate. The early Christians took this command seriously. Generosity was the hallmark of the early church. They did for those who could not do or would not do anything in return. That was new. That got people's attention. Is that how people in our communities would describe us? How to Be Rich will force conversation and reflection around the topic of what to do with what we have. Jesus could not have been any clearer. It's not what you have that matters. It's what you do with what you have that will count for you or against you in the kingdom of heaven. Andy Stanley will encourage you to look at richness differently, which might just lead our families, communities, and world to look at Christians differently.

    Highly Recommended Reading

In this book by Andy Stanley, pastor, communicator, author and the founder of North Point Ministries, the author sets out to remind Christians in the West (and this applies to Christians in other first-world countries too) how rich they are compared to many others elsewhere in the world. That said, he also argues that not many are good at being rich. Stanley goes on to remind us that all our wealth actually comes from and belongs to God. Consequently, we should not place our hope in riches but in God who richly provides. Failure to view wealth through the lends of God and eternity will cause us to be arrogant and to have misplaced trust in wealth. In order for wealth not to control us, Stanley advocates that we learn how and strategize to be generous. We should also avoid people or places that may incite desires in us to acquire things we do not need and with wealth we can use to meet the needs of worthy causes. Towards the end of the book, Stanley reminds the readers how the early Christians changed and revolutionized the society of their times by their generosity. He challenges us to do the same in our day and age. By writing this book, Stanley has done a great service to the Christian Church. This book is highly recommended and a must read.

When you feel poor, this book helps you be rich

One key point I take away from Andy Stanley's teaching on this book, is that the most important thing in life is not about how to GET rich, but how to BE rich. As a matter of fact, most of us living in fortunate country like Australia, is considered rich. Sadly, most of us failed to see that and always in pursue of money. \\r\\n\\r\\nI have been reading many financial books from Robert Kiyosaki and the likes. The world offers many teaching about how to earn money, invest, make money, gain money, and gain more money. But this book is more than that. . it teaches me to be content with what I have and realize that I am already rich with what I have. And that God has a plan with the riches He has blessed us with. \\r\\n\\r\\nIf you love reading books about finance, then this on how to live our life freely and fully in our finance, according to the bible.
