This is good for anyone who wants to know about the founder of the CIM Hudson Taylor. \\r\\n\\r\\nIt is not a comprehensive biography, but gives snapshots to various important stages of Hudson Taylors life. It includes many parts of his diary. \\r\\n\\r\\nIt is encouraging to read about his faith and how he overcame various difficulties.

Fascinating and challenging - highly recommended
This book is a fascinating insight into the life and mind and heart of Hudson Taylor. The book includes many quotes from Hudson. These give deep insights into the faith and struggles of the man behind the modern mission movement. \\r\\nThe book is very readable and engaging. \\r\\nThe book will challenge the reader to pray, have big faith and confidence in the power of God. \\r\\nHighly recommended as a spiritually enriching book. Highly recommended as a biography of the life of Hudson Taylor. \\r\\n

Develop Faith and Prayerfulness
This book has been the most impacting book I have read, second to the Bible, in developing faithfulness and prayerfulness. The book is mixed between a biographical account of Taylor's missionary journeys along with valuable excerpts from his diaries. The book reveals God's faithfulness and sovereignty throughout Taylor's life, as the missionary learnt """"you do not need a great faith, but faith in a great God. """" This book will leave the reader with steadfast faith, through total surrender and prayerful dependence upon the Lord, that the Lord does work seemingly impossible circumstances for our good and His glory. The book will leave you fleeing from self-effort and relying simply on the grace and power of God, bringing you to a place of deeper faith and increased prayerfullness.

Encouraging beyond words
This account of Hudson Taylor's life is incredibly encouraging and inspiring. It highlights his incredible trust and dependence on God through seemingly impossible situations and the momentous task of bringing the gospel to China. All the events of Taylor's life bring him to a continually greater dependence on The Lord until he can finally say that he has completely given all of himself into the rest of The Lord, in any and all situations. The book outlines exactly how Hudson Taylor came to grasp and live out this 'spiritual secret' in His life. This book has really encouraged and challenged me to truly rest in the Lord's providential and loving hands.
