This book comprises essays written in honour of David Wright. The essays address topics related to, for example, the early Church Fathers' attitude to the Jews, James Arminius' influence by Ramism, the sources of John Calvin's citations in his commentaries, the Roman-Greek background to the Pauline passages dealing with homosexuality and others. The essays are written by competent scholars who are each expert in their fields of research. That said, they are by no means easy-reading for readers without some basic background in theology, biblical studies and church history. Also, whilst the essays may be of interest to those in the scholarly community, they have limited practical value to pastors except for some intellectual stimulation.
