    Great book

We love this book. The book covers a section of Matthew Gospel that is often overlooked by children books. We love the fact that it points out that Jesus and his family needed to flee to Egypt for their lives. We find it helpful to discuss with our kid what it’s like to be a refugee in our days.

Part of a great series of books

The story is written by an Aussie. The pictures are very simple but very bright and colourful. There are a couple of sentences for each double page, so is great for younger kids through to adults! The story is subtly linked to the bible talking about Jesus being a refugee. This books is part of a series from the people at Lost Sheep. These books really capture kids attention! It was an interesting book to generate discussions with older children about refugees today and people within our community that might need help.

    Such a timely book

This book was a real eye opener in that I'd never thought of Jesus in this light before. It was great to be able to not only enjoy it with my kids but explain to them what a refugee was and how they might be a friend to those who are. Such a beautiful story and very timely in this day and age.

    Worth reading

This book starts from the perspective of Jesus as a boy before changing to Joseph's. It highlights the displacement of Jesus' family and the danger they faced during his childhood. Such a great book for 6-12 year olds to help grow their understanding of what it means, and may feel like, to be a refugee.

    Misleading

The pictures are colourful and bright, which is eyecatching and nice to look at. \\r\\nIt puts words into the mouth of Jesus that He did not say. \\r\\nIt misrepresents scripure for a worldly agenda; not for Jesus. \\r\\nIt turns Jesus into something He was not, to make other faiths comfortable. \\r\\nIt robs Jesus. It robs the children of the truth about Jesus. \\r\\n\\r\\nNext they will have a book about Jesus being a homosexual, etc. So that kids feel more comfortable with that. Which is also a twist of scripture; and no different to this one. \\r\\n\\r\\nIt does not build the faith of Children in Jesus. Which is what a """"Christian"""" book should do. \\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n
