Listening Well: A Biblical Model of Christian Conversation

In Luke 2:46, we see twelve-year-old Jesus in the temple, "sitting,", "listening,", and "asking" questions. Later, in Luke 24:13-35, we see the risen Jesus walking with two disheartened disciples, asking them what they have been talking about and listening patiently while they pour out their hearts. Only then does Jesus begin to share the Good News.

Our current cultural environments of tweets, opinions, and hot takes has contributed to increasing division in relationships. Are we so busy yelling our thoughts and beliefs that we’ve forgotten how to list to others?

Point readers to Scripture and Jesus’ life, Listening Well will help readers improve their questioning and listening skills to more effectively share Christ’s love with those who don’t feel heard or known. Improving these skills may strengthen existing relationships, heal broken relationships, and build new relationships in order to share the Gospel.
