This book by Philip H. Eveson, Principal of the London Theological Seminary, is part of Day One's Travel With series. Besides providing a carefully researched biography of Lloyd-Jones, it also serves as a travel guide to the interesting and significant places connected with Lloyd-Jones' life and ministry. Over 150 color photos, clear illustrated maps, guide to getting around, and quick reference travel facts make this book highly useful to the traveler who wants to trace the footsteps of Lloyd-Jones. Eveson's biography of Lloyd-Jones is very well written, covering the famed preacher's family origins, conversion, brief medical career, ministry in Wales, London and beyond, and also his unique place in evangelical history. Reading about Lloyd-Jones' life and ministry cannot but cause one both to thank God for raising and using such a man as well as to long for such a ministry in our own local churches. Would to God that He would raise up more of the likes of Lloyd-Jones in our day and time - pastors and preachers who are committed to prayer, to preaching the Gospel, to being physicians of souls, to evangelical unity, to the cause of robust evangelical theological education, and to revival. Reading this book cannot but both humble and warm the heart. Highly recommended!
