Verity Hatherleigh has a mind of her own--but her impulsive actions do not impress her viscount papa. When she gets into one scrape too many, he sends her off to the wilds of Scotland to rethink her headstrong ways.

Anthony Jardine relished his role as curate, but his new duties as laird of Dungally aren't always to his liking. Though he thought his new inheritance would be a blessing, somehow he's finding nothing but trouble on these estates. And the intelligent, compassionate, feisty lass who was sent to rusticate in his territory is one of the biggest problems. He's falling in love with her, but she doesn't share the faith that's his foundation--not to mention he's been lying to her about who he really is. For the truth-loving Verity, that may be unforgivable.

The tangled web these two have woven may spell disaster for their happiness--and for the tenants of Dungally.

Stayed up until 2am as I had to finish it.

Oh boy, what a night! Stayed up until 2 am to finish this, the third book of the third series: Regency Brides: Daughters of Aynsley by Australian Author Carolyn Miller (a fellow Aussie). Thank goodness that we go to the second service at church \\n\\nThe best was saved for last. I wasn't sure how I would go as I'd read the nine books one after another and by the seventh and eighth I felt, a little weary of them, but didn't know if it was just me and how I was feeling at the time, or the books a little slow moving for me, but I'm so glad that I got to really 'meet' Miss Verity, the youngest of the Aynsley sisters who comes across a little feisty but she is actually passionate for truth and hates deceit, a girl after my own heart who often are misrepresented in real life, especially in the church world who some believe women should be meek and mild (they need to look up the biblical definition of Meek!). You realise, right in the last chapters, why she maybe has this tendency to stand up for those who cannot and being the youngest has added to the reason. For those who know the Enneagram, she is definitely an 8, like me. \\n\\nRegency Australia plays a part in this amazing book though the majority of the story is placed in Scotland, not too far from Gretna Green. \\n\\nI loved this book and the nail-biting ending. Go Grandmama!

    Delightful, spirited, and totally captivating

The most delightful, spirited and totally captivating of the Aynsley daughters. What a great read and again I've loved this book more the second time through. The more I read of Carolyn Miller the more I appreciate the exquisite timing of the plot, the bantering conversations, and the beautiful expression of feelings and awareness of Anthony and Verity of each other. Their growing love for each other and Verity's growth as a young woman towards a worthy wife of a mature Christian man was a delight to read. \\nTruly a romance worthy of 5 stars, and oh the final scene is worthy of a BBC style series. Now to just choose the appropriate actors!

    Entertaining but not perfect

I love strong writing that draws you in with interesting characters, intriguing locations, laughable moments, serious conversations, a spiritual journey, plenty of romance, and a happily-ever-after ending. This book has all of that, but I also look for a moral lesson. Unfortunately, that's where this book fell apart for me. In the last few chapters the couple decide to be honest with each other but continue to lie to other people. That spoiled what had been ramping up as my favourite book of the series. So, I would rate this book as a missed opportunity to be more than entertaining.

    Enthralling Novel

This tangled tale of the deception between Verity and Anthony, within a historical setting, is a wonderfully written novel that sweeps you away to another time and place of a bygone era and keeps you interested until the end. It is an enthralling novel of faith, friendship, romance with splashes of humour and courage that will capture your heart. A delight to read.

Misleading Miss Verity (Regency Brides: Daughters Of Aynsley Series)

The third book in the Regency Brides: Daughters of Ansley series. While I loved the whole series this is my favorite! I have found a really great Regency author in Carolyn Miller, she makes the words come off the pages into my imagination with her vivid descriptions and magnificent plot. The characters are fun and easy to relate to. \\nLove Regency romance? Look no further than Carolyn Miller she'll be your go to author for an exciting read. Though this is the third in the series it can be read as a stand alone but go ahead and read the whole series, you'll thank yourself for it!\\nLooking forward to reading her next book but it won't be easy waiting!\\n\\n\\nPublished November 19th 2019 by Kregel Publications . \\nI was given a complimentary copy from a friend. Thank you. \\nAll opinions expressed are my own. \\n
