Was it the cover that drew you to the book, or perhaps even the blurb itself. Well, for me these were the reasons that first captured my attention. Being familiar with Eake's earlier works, I was ready for a story with unexpected twists, and this book delivered. Pirating stories are predictable in that an innocent American merchant ship gets captured and its crew are branded as prisoners of the Crown. However, as the story progresses, Deirdre and Kieran discover that they're prisoners themselves, held captive by feelings of worthlessness and the only way out is forgiveness; forgiveness of others and themselves. Already from the first chapter you will be drawn into the story. I hope you enjoy it :) All is not as it seems at first glance.
