As a young teen, my favourite movie was 'The Princess Diaries', so it's certainly a compliment when I say that this novel is like The Princess Diaries, just without the teenage drama! The premise captured me right away: Reggie is a down to earth Southern gal, who dreams of one day being a successful mechanic, and so is somewhat disgruntled to discover she is, in fact, a princess. I have to admit I did find some parts of this story a bit too far-fetched, but after all, it is a princess story!

Sweet fairytale
\\nThe story of Tanner and Reggie is sweet and far-fetched and dreamy, complete with royalty, European sophistication, castles, pesky press and a little bit of fantasy/supernatural thrown in to make the happy ending complete and possible. Although parts of the story overlap with part one in the Royal Wedding Series, Princess Ever After can certainly be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone book. It was great to see both characters develop and handle their emotional baggage with good outcomes. Definitely worth reading as a delicious escape from the grind of life. It would also make a great movie, with all the elements of a typical Hollywood hit.
