Pygo the Free: A Cautionary Tale

Pygo the free is a story unlike others, which was the reason for adding it to my bookshelf. In Proverbs 14:12 it says """"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. """" This is a cleverly written tale to explain what that means, in the story of a fish who thinks he knows what is best by ignoring the advice of the wise and breaks the boundaries that are just there to 'ruin his fun'. An excerpt: [""""He said,""""That law keeps fishkind enslaved; true freedom is found on the land. I bet it was written to spoil our fun, to keep us from joy in the sand. """"] He continues to believe the lie that his way is the only way to freedom, who finds out in the end that he was wrong, it only leads to destruction. In fact God's way is the only way that leads to life, which is stated in the end verse. At the end of the book there are questions for discussion with additional verses to look up together, as well as things to note from the story. Includes 2 verses at the start of the story and 2 at the end. My only criticism would be that is doesn't explain a lot about the freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. Maybe because this is predominately a 'cautionary' tale and the notes at the end of the book help parents to discuss these points further together.
