Story Behind the Book

“The secular world has become very interested in ‘supernatural’ gifts. Take, for example, shows like *Joan of Arcadia, The Medium, Monk, and Dead Zone* . Yet it’s God who gives every good and perfect gift. My guess is that we humans barely tap into the vast variety of gifts that He has to offer. Not only that, but our fast-paced, high-tech culture rarely relies on those good ‘old-fashioned’ character traits like insight, intuition, wisdom, and foresight. My hope is that this series will provide a fun way for teens to explore deeper levels of spirituality and creativity while inspiring them to a greater love for God.”

    Pretty good

Not the biggest fan if the way it is written (present tense) but the overall story is so intriguing you can't put the book down! (And not a huge fan of the ending. . . feels like there supposed to be a number 2. . . ?)

    Bad Connection by Melody Carlson

What Would You Do If God Gave You A Vision?\\r\\n\\r\\nSamantha McGregor received a gift from God, but she's not really sure she wants it. Her dad, the only person who really understood her gift and encouraged her to use it, was killed a few years ago, and her mom just wants Sam to be normal. Then a classmate, Kayla Henderson, goes missing, and Sam starts getting visions about her. But what if the visions are only a figment of Sam's imagination, caused by concern? Sam knows that Kayla is the kind of person who would do something stupid like run away, just to get attention. But when Sam gets a vision where Kayla is tied up with duct tape over her mouth, she knows it is time to take action. Scared by what she sees, she contacts her dad's old partner in the police force. But can Sam convince the police to take her seriously? And can she trust that God will lead her to Kayla?\\r\\n\\r\\nBad Connection is a unique story about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There are a few intense scenes, including one with a person who was killed. Overall a good story, although Sam's relationship with God seemed weak and slightly forced - she seemed to have a far better relationship with her Bible than with God. \\r\\n\\r\\nRecommended for ages 13 or 14 plus\\r\\n\\r\\n3. 5 stars

    Terrific new series

This is an unreal book in a new series. It's about a young girl who is given visions from God to help police solve a mystery. I must admit, I was dubious about the content - not believing in psychics myself. However, I decided to try it because I love everything else that I've read from this author. Melody Carlson had me engrossed from the beginning - I couldn't put it down!! Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

    Brill Read

I've only read the first book in this series (the one shown above) but its got me hooked into the series and I've got the next one to read. This book is mystery, adventure, and teen girl all rolled into one. From what I can remember all things that were spoken about lined up with God's Word (like the visions part, because we may be a bit sceptical with all the crazy stuff that is going on in the world, but it is scriptural that our """"young men will have visions and old men will have dreams""""). I think its a must read for teen girls
