**In the Depth of the Storm's Shadow, Only Truth Can Light Her Way** Having escaped Egypt with the other Hebrews during the Exodus, Shira is now living in freedom at the foot of Mt. Sinai, upon which rests the fiery glowing Cloud containing the *shekinah* glory of God. When the people disobey Yahweh and build a golden idol, the ensuing chaos gives Shira an unexpected opportunity to learn the arts of midwifery. Although her mother wishes for her to continue in the family weaving trade, Shira's gifts shine brightest when she assists with deliveries. In defiance of her mother, Shira pursues her heart's calling to become an apprentice midwife.
When a delivery goes horribly wrong, Shira finds herself bound to a man who betrayed her, the caretaker of three young children, and the target of a vengeful woman whose husband was killed by Shira's people, the Levites. As contention between the Hebrew tribes and the foreigners fans the flames of another dangerous rebellion, Shira will come face-to-face with the heartbreak of her past that she has kept hidden for so long. How can she let go of all that has defined her to accept the love she's denied herself and embrace who she truly is?

Shadow of the Storm (#02 in Out From Egypt Series)$27.99
""""There will always be storms. There will be loss in your life, sometimes devastating loss. But if you let the wind and the rain overcome you, then you will never fulfil the purpose for which you were born, the reason Yahweh gave you breath and brought you to this time, to this place. There will be times when there is nothing you can do but survive, to place one foot after the other into the driving rain. You can tuck your head under your wing for a while and wait out the storm. But you will fly again. """"\\n\\nThis book was absolutely beautifully written and left me with such a bigger view of God and his incredible grace and love for his people. I loved the journey Shira took to discovering her purpose beyond what she'd grown up expecting and the love she finds-both in God and man-along the way. Couldn't more highly recommend this book. It's brilliant and you should read it. \\n

Beautiful and clever
This is the second book is the Out of Eygpt series and I would highly recommend it to all those who have read the first book (or if they have skipped ahead and read the third book). It is set during the time that the Israelites were in the wilderness and contains many of the actual events that are recoded in the book of Exodus. The story is written from the viewpoint of a very likeable Hebrew girl who was in the first book and who appears in the third book as an older woman. She wants to be a midwife but struggles which insecurities and family pressures. The Biblical narrative is made relateable and the holiness, power and wonder of God is conveyed beautifully so that the reader is left encouraged in their faith. The author has also cleverly woven in a fictional mystery and suspenceful storyline with an """"badie"""" character who is midwife.

Wonderful!
The second book in the Out From Egypt series, Shadow of the Storm gives us the continuing story from Shira's perspective. \\r\\nOnce again, completely captivating. The tensions between Shira and Dvorah (can I say how I love how the author uses the more Hebrew pronunciation of names? :-) ) and how they grow and develop during the book makes you want to not put the book down.

Thoroughly Engaging
This is the second book in the Out of Egypt series. It continues to follow the same family from book one but this time we move forward journeying with Shira, the Hebrew slave from book one. Our Israelite nation is now at the foot of the mountain for the year. Here they are being formed into a nation, hopefully united under Yahweh. This story again helped me broaden my understanding on what this time would have been like. This is an incredibly encouraging story. I finished it with a greater sense of awe for our God

Beautiful
A beautiful sequel to 'Counted With The Stars' with the same great characters, this time told from Shira's point of view. \\r\\nShadow of the Storm is thoroughly engaging that stole my heart. Once started, I didn't want to put it down. This is a series you need on your bookcase.
