Lighthearted Historical Romance From a Rising Star

No one steps on Archer land. Not if they value their life. But when Meredith Hayes overhears a lethal plot to burn the Archer brothers off their ranch, a twelve-year-old debt compels her to take the risk.

Fourteen years of constant vigilance hardens a man. Yet when Travis Archer confronts a female trespasser with the same vivid blue eyes as the courageous young girl he once aided, he can't bring himself to send her away. And when an act of sacrifice leaves her injured and her reputation in shreds, gratitude and guilt send him riding to her rescue once again.

Four brothers. Four straws. One bride. Despite the fact that Travis is no longer the gallant youth Meredith once dreamed about, she determines to stand by his side against the enemy that threatens them both. But will love ever be hers? Or will Travis always see her merely as a short-straw bride?

    Fabulous Book

Short- straw Bride is a gorgeous, light-hearted novel. As always Karen writes hilarious, witty dialogue that will keep you laughing from the beginning to the end. Meredith and Travis are well written, in-depth characters and when the book finishes you will really miss them. A book you can read twice and still enjoy, this one is definitely on my favourites list!\\r\\n\\r\\n

    Great book

I just finished reading this book for the second time round. I just love it. Meredith is such a lovely strong character. Travis is a lovely young man trying his best to obey his fathers dying wish, learning to trust God to protect his family. It was a very light hearted book to read and I enjoyed every page of it, even the second time round.

    Humourous and Engaging

This was the first book I have read by Karen Witemeyer. It's not going to be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The book was full of humour, the plot kept you in suspense of how it was all going to work out and the characters were engaging and winsome. Would definitely recommend reading it.

Best yet - couldn't put it down!

Absolutely loved this book - definitely my favourite of all the Karen Witemeyer's I've read so far. \\r\\nKaren's female character is strong and witty, yet with flaws and feelings we can all relate to. \\r\\nThe lead male is hard not to love - he is most definitely masculine and protective and duty bound. \\r\\nThere is humour and emotion aplenty in this book, I have thoroughly enjoyed it and it's so refreshing to have a book you can't put down. \\r\\nIt's not often you read a novel that you would like a sequel made out of, but this book certainly has potential - though I think it would be hard to top this one. \\r\\nI definitely recommend this book!
