Stirrings of the soul by Michael Raiter

In this book the writer, Raiter, examines in depth man's spiritual relationship with God. He starts by showing how rebellious man has distanced himself from the holy God because of man's fall into sin. Raiter deplores the fact that modern man is more focused on the human spirit than on the divine. The New Age is focusing on one's inner being. Hence, the appeal of mysticism which Raiter deals with at length. \\nIt's interesting to read about Paul preaching Romans1 in Athens as recounted in Acts 17. People are genuine spiritual seekers but they are put off by believers who are insensitive, hypocritical and sticking to traditions. Raiter is sad that people have suppressed the truth about God. He examines true spirituality in Romans8 which is concerned with loving God wholly and loving our neighbour as ourself. He hopes we will commit to glorifying God and experiencing the living God whenever we meet instead of theologizing our experience of Christ. \\nI recommend this book to any reader who likes a challenge\\n
