‘What are the marks of a supernaturally changed heart?’ This is one of the questions the Apostle Paul addresses as he writes to the church in Corinth. He’s not after some superficial outward tinkering, but instead a deep–rooted, life–altering change that takes place on the inside. In an age where pleasing people, puffing up your ego and building your résumé are seen as the methods to ‘make it’, the Apostle Paul calls us to find true rest in blessed self–forgetfulness. In this short and punchy book, best–selling author Timothy Keller, shows that gospel–humility means we can stop connecting every experience, every conversation with ourselves and can thus be free from self–condemnation. A truly gospel–humble person is not a self–hating person or a self–loving person, but a self–forgetful person. This freedom can be yours… Praise for the book: "Tim Keller knows that personal freedom is only ever found in viewing yourself from the vantage point of the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Read and experience that freedom yourself." - Paul David Tripp, President of Paul Tripp Ministries "An excellent little piece. This is a truly liberating book for anyone who's ever worried about what others think of them or been caught up in conflict. You’ll find your life explained and then put on the path to freedom." - Tim Chester, author, Enjoying God ; Senior Faculty Member, Crosslands Training "In this helpful little book, Dr. Keller paints a compelling picture of a truly gospel-humble person who is so taken up with his Lord that he is freed from the constant need to think about himself. We were challenged by it: we pray that you will be too." - Christopher and Carolyn Ash , St. Andrew the Great Church, Cambridge, UK

The Freedom of Self-Forgetfulness: The Path to True Christian Joy$8.99$6.74
This book is a relatively easy read that tackles something all people struggle with. I found it helpful in reframing my perspective on who I am as a person. However, this is quite a short book. It is straight and to the point which is great for the general populations but lacks nuance for people in more extreme life situations. If you are someone or supporting someone who struggles with this topic because of more serious problems, I would recommend something else.

A small book with big truths
What this book lacks in pages it certainly makes up for in wholesome, heart-hitting truth. It is concise, easy to read and addresses the ideas of Christian identity, pride and humility, and freedom in the gospel. This book is a must read for anyone - great for a non Christian and for those who have been a Christian for many years.

Small book, big impact
A great book about the implications of truely following Christ, forgetting yourself and putting Christ and others first.

Great reading.
Tis so sweet to forget ones self! I would highly recommend this very short and easy to grasp book heartily, for the weary traveler and the content fellow alike. The reward and joy of living light is explored here and the life of the church and the world - 'others centredness' is expounded succinctly here. My only honest complaint is that it's too short - I feel like some more practical application and development of the main points could have been of great benefit. It's didn't feel rushed, but it felt a bit brief. I guess that's what a small book is supposed to do. . . .

The best smallest book you've read
I loved this book so much I read it multiple times and have since given away copies to many of my friends. It's the best smallest book you've ever read! Keller unpacks the problems of identity as defined by our modern world and gets his readers to consider the truth about each of us as defined by God's Word.
