Dr Chamberlain has provided koine Greek students everywhere with a remarkably cost-effective, and very user-friendly supplemental lexicon to the LXX. The important point to note is that this is a supplemental lexicon; Chamberlain assumes that the reader will have to hand the third edition of Bauer's, 'A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament and Other Early Christian Literature' (or BDAG). Consequently, the former supplements (it does not supplant) the latter by providing glosses for those words not addressed, or inadequately addressed, in BDAG. It is true that two full-scale English-language, LXX specific lexica are readily available: those of Muraoka, and Lust, Eynikel and Hauspie. However, these are expensive publications and likely as not provide more detail than the average or occasional reader of the LXX requires. So long as such a one has to hand the BDAG, she or he will be well placed to delve into the treasures of the Septuagint. Very highly recommended.
