    Great easy read

Wanda's book the half stitched amish quilt club is an amish novel with a difference. It highlights the various characters with different flaws that i could most certainly relate. It was interesting to note that an amish was willing to open their home to strangers to learn quilting from a widower Emma who is amish. I enjoyed the different angle on the amish life as seen through the eyes of the other characters. Its a really easy read and i recommend it.

Fun and happy for a weekend read

Sometimes Amish books can all blend together a little bit, but this one is totally set apart with fun twists and turns, likeable characters and Godly wisdom all stitched together. Definitely a reader and a keeper!

    Light read, but deep characters

I thoroughly enjoyed rereading this book again this week - it was given to me last year for a birthday along with fabric to make my own quilt! It's lovely to see the way Wanda has woven together this story from unlikely characters who each present their own faults, idiosyncrasies and issues. Through Emma's gentle ways and patience when teaching, changes of heart are seen throughout the book. This would make a great book study for a ladies group which also does craft! A lovely story to share together.

    Relaxing Holiday Read

This was a nice easy read - no complicated plot to keep track of, no suspense or drama to climax and recover from. Just a gentle look into the lives of six small town folk who, for various reasons, sign up for Emma Yoder's quilting class. It's lovely to see how the common bond of quilting brings this odd bunch together, allowing them to grow as individuals, and to learn far more than how to quilt from Emma, who is able to impart gentle wisdom between stitches. It's nice to read of the positive outcome for all when this Amish widow opens her heart and her home to outsiders, rather than isolating herself the way most Amish do in books. I enjoyed reading this book on holidays.
