4. 5 stars - After their embarrassing 'almost' incident after surviving Denali in Book 1, Dr Aria Sinclair decides it's best that she forgets all about rescuer Jake Silver, despite what her annoying heart is telling her. She heads to Miami for a medical convention and a couple of days R and R, but accidentally sends Jake a message saying she needs some TLC. He hops on a plane to go to her, but a hurricane is heading towards the Florida keys. He finds Aria taking refuge in an evacuated hospital with an elderly woman with lung problems, the woman's adult granddaughter and a very pregnant young woman whose boyfriend appears to have abandoned her. Throw in a few more emergencies, including a drug addict, escaped prisoners and a lost puppy, and there are lots of thrills and spills. \\n\\nSusan May Warren writes really well and certainly knows how to ramp up the action. Just when you think our heroes might have smooth-sailing for a while, something else gets thrown into the mix. There are some literally death-defying moments and many times when I thought 'how are they going to get out of this one?' \\n\\nThe romance was appealing, and I liked the way faith elements were woven in, giving a lot of food for thought. Some of the lessons to learn where repeated a bit too much, but I enjoyed it overall. There is also a secondary subplot involving Ham from the first book, as he tries to find answers about the presumed death of his former wife in Europe. Probably best to read Book 1 first.
