A remarkable book, that I sure am glad exists!

Dr. James White takes on KJV-Onlyism and leaves it no room to stand. His book is chain-breaking, and proves Christianity even more! A well-researched and well-presented book! You can pick this book up and easily understand and be amazed by this book. King James Onlyism is purely 'dogmatically repeating already refuted errors' and this book clearly shows that.

    Poorly written

This book is so bad it further strengthened my belief that the KJV is the only bible in the English language

    Clear and helpful

This book is clear, helpful and loving. James White affirms the KJV as a great translation, but critiques the view that the KJV is the best and that other modern English translations are intentionally heretical. He explains clearly the process behind the study of manuscripts and translation so that the reader understands where our Bible versions come from to bring clarity to the subject. Highly recommended for anyone asking such questions, and for anyone wanting to know more about the Bible translation and transmission process.

    Must Read

An excellent read, not only for refuting the false teachings of King James Onlyism, but great for learning the history of the bible and textual criticism. \\r\\n\\r\\nA must read considering the danger of the attack on scripture today by KJVO people.

    Shabby, dishonest scholorship

I give this book a 1. 55 and only give at least one star because it's actually well written with some information about the historytransmission behind manuscripts and why the manuscripts in existence today are reliable. That is where it stops however, the rest of the arguments against """"KJV onlyism"""" and the KJV translation itself are full of double standards, half-truths, strawmans and mistakes. \\r\\n\\r\\nThere is hypocritical talk about the KJV's lack of """"manuscript support"""" when the """"modern versions"""" are full of words that are not even in the text basis of their translations. Majority of White's book is full word comparisons with the """"modern versions"""" trying to show that the KJV renderings are inferior and have mistakes. Many of the words which White has cherry picked have the same meaning and have distinctions made on the context of what is being said. \\r\\n\\r\\nLike most modern text scholars there is no standard when it comes to the Bible because they lack faith in God's promise to preserve His word. They use a modern naturalistic approach to determining scripture reliabilitypreservation instead of a supernatural approach like a Bible believer would (eg. looking at what God says about His preservation of words). This is why they cant come to a conclusion. If you use the King James Bible you can be assured that you have the true preserved word of God in English.
