If you need a textbook series that won't torture you with minuscule detail, but is a reliable and sufficiently comprehensive start here! It is delightfully easy to understand and the """"Think About"""" and """"Digging Deeper"""" features transform it from a textbook, to a resource for Christian growth and meditation. \\n\\nThe book is very well laid out, it notes multiple points of view, rather than interpreting from a biased standpoint and whenever I am stuck on a passage, it is the first resource I reach for. It also stands up to a lot of highlighting and notes scratched into the margins. . . :-) This book is my main Bible College textbook for studying the Old Testament Prophets and it is brilliant. Amongst all the texts I have been assigned, it is my favourite and will be used long after my study ends. \\n\\nThere is a series of these books and I have bought every one, required reading or not.
