The Summer of Yes

I wrote an entire blog post about the impact this book had on me 😂 Yes, it was that good and impactful.

But, in short, this book made me laugh and inspired me and challenged me and was just so, so good! Yes, it was romantic and corny at times and maybe even overly sweet but I loved that about it. Courtney Walsh has this way of writing books that are deep but so sweet and light at the same time. The kind of books I pick up when I need a pick up or a break from reality, but are worth every minute and leave me both inspired and smiling long after I finish them. Love them!

A close call accident prompts Kelsey to re-evaluate her life, and make more room for the things that are most important. This leads to an unforgettable summer, and important lessons learnt. I've long loved Courtney Walsh's novels, and it feels like she is trying out a different style in this novel - it reads more like a novel by Bethany Turner, or Melissa Ferguson. Since I love those authors too, I really enjoyed this entertaining, and thought provoking, read!

I love the way Courtney Walsh is able to blend humour, deep truths and romance. This book does not disappoint in any area. Although fiction, I have been challenged in areas of my life that need growth. The characters are all so likeable and real. This is a book that I will definitely be rereading. I have also been inspired to say ""yes"" more often too.
