However, in each case a miraculous power intervenes. That miraculous power seems to be coming from the older brother, Simon.
During those same months, Simon is also having dreams and flashbacks of something that happened to him when he was very young. When he tries to talk to his parents about the dreams they appear disinterested, if not uncomfortable.
A third child, Olivia, is a part of the circus too. 14 year-old Olivia is an acrobat whose parents are the circus clowns.
