**Two women separated by decades. Both set out to help others find their dreams when their own have crumbled.**

It's the 1930s, and Cora is taking the reins at her family's wedding shop in Heart's Bend, Tennessee. Brides come from far away to be doted on by Cora and her family while they find the perfect wedding dress. Meanwhile, Cora has found her true love, Rufus, a riverboat captain. Cora counts the days until his return from the river, and she continues to wait for him as days turn into months and months turn into years. When he finally returns, she receives the shock of a lifetime: he is married to another. Nursing her heartbreak, she must find a way to continue pouring her heart into the hopes and dreams of the brides who visit her shop, all while wondering if she will ever find true love or if it has passed her by.

In present day, Haley has finished her time as a soldier, and suffering from PTSD, wants nothing to do with the heartbreak of this world. She sets off for Heart's Bend, Tennessee, and in order to honor the memory of a fallen friend, she takes on the task of reopening an abandoned and long-forgotten wedding shop. Perhaps through helping others, she can forget the pain and disappointment in her own life.

Haley isn't looking for love, but when her friend's former fiancé becomes involved in the shop's renovations, they both find that healing and restoration can perhaps happen in their lives too.

    Sweet story

I enjoyed this story of Cora from the 1930's and Haley, 80 years later. They both are passionate about helping Brides have their dream day. \\r\\nThe Wedding Shop has become abandoned and there is a bid for the land to make it into a parking lot for town growth. Haley has returned home after leaving the Air Force and rediscovers her dream of opening the Wedding shop and returning it to its original purpose. \\r\\nThere are some lovely twists and some heartbreaking moments as the story unfolds. I think you'll enjoy this Romance by Rachel Hauck.

    Great Christian Fiction

The Wedding Shop is a dual timeline story. In the present, there is Haley, ex-Air Force captain who has returned to her hometown of Heart's Bend, Tennessee, to fulfil her childhood dream of reopening Miss Cora's once-famous wedding shop. The past story is Miss Cora's. While the two women initially appear completely different, over time we find they have a lot in common. \\r\\n\\r\\nI thought these commonalities and the clever (and careful) way in which they were gradually revealed was one of the major strengths of the story. I often find one story in a dual timeline novel draws me in more than the other. That certainly wasn't the case with The Wedding Shop. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe Wedding Shop is a true winner with an underlying message of God's forgiveness, our identity as children of God, and the lies we allow ourselves to believe. \\r\\n\\r\\nI haven't read The Wedding Dress or The Wedding Chapel, and it's not necessary in order to enjoy The Wedding Shop. Those who have read the earlier novels will no doubt enjoy the references to both. Those who haven't might not even pick up on them if they didn't know there were previous novels. \\r\\n\\r\\nRecommended. Thanks to Zondervan and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
