With over 35 years of experience in marriage counselling, best-selling author Dr Gary Chapman believes that divorce stems from the lack of preparation for marriage and the failure to learn the skills of working together as intimate teammates. It's the type of information Gary himself wished he had before he got married! This is not a book simply to be read. It is a book to be experienced. The material lends itself to heart-felt discussions by dating or engaged couples. To jump-start the exchanges, each short chapter includes insightful "Talking it Over" questions and suggestions. Also included are references to helpful interactive websites and further reading. By understanding and balancing the five key aspects of life, dating couples can experience a healthy dating relationship.

Gary, with more than 35 years of experience counseling couples, believes that divorce is the lack of preparation for marriage and the failure to learn the skills of working together as intimate teammates.

Perfect gift for the engaged couple

Bought this as a gift for a couple as an engagement present. I wish I had a book like this to read prior to my own marriage! I think it would have helped a lot.

Good book with some helpful points

Gary Chapman's book has some solid wisdom. I appreciated his discussions on arguments, apologising, forgiveness, and chores especially. There are also some good and practical steps provided in these areas and helpful study questions after each chapter. \\n\\nEven so, I did find at many times the book to be quite simplistic, discussing obvious points a little too thoroughly. Also, some of his conclusions (""""personalities never change"""",""""like daughter like mother"""") were presented as objective and unanimous facts, but from experience I don't see these being absolutes. Finally, I was hoping for his arguments to be rooted in Scripture, though perhaps this book, as with 5 Love Languages, is more-so written for a broad audience. \\n\\nOverall, a good book with some helpful points for consideration and application.

Amazing! Practical Guide for any couple!

This product is a must read for any engaged couple or newly-weds! Chapman was captivating from the start, using humour and spiritual wisdom to guide any couple trough the realities of married life! It was well-laid out and easy to read, and was also surprisingly practical in the most applicable way! Would also recommend the audio book for the male spouse who doesn't like reading!

    Great Read!

A must read for pre-marriage couples! A very easy read that highlights situations not typically discussed or thought of. Gives very practical examples, and is has great discussion points.
