Two (or three) books in one

At its core, is the tragic death of Levi Lusko's little girl, and to that end, this is a tough read going through the details of before and after, how he and his wife and family have coped, and how God has walked with them through their grief and sustained them.

Surrounded by this, are words of encouragement to anyone going through grief themselves, and occasionally he branches of from the main theme of the book into little sermons.

At times, he branches further off to talk about the church he and his wife were called to build in a far-off place from where he was raised, and other experiences that he's had that seem to drift from the original reason why we're reading the book, although he does return to the main theme, drift off and return again.

As a Christian, I'm OK with some of the avenues he goes off into with his writing, but there are times when, with all due respect, I was confused as to which direction he was directing his story, his testimonies, his advice, and that's why I think it might have been better as several smaller books with definite themes.

Levi himself explains that the book itself was written in different places, and at different times.

While he does drift into other ideas, the overall theme of grieving with God's guidance is evident.

    Powerful

As you walk through this book with Levi you feel his agonising pain combined with his very real hope and faith in Jesus. This is no trite Christian walk through suffering but rather a very real and freeing journey. I would recommend everyone read this book. It is freeing for those going through suffering but also really helpful for though walking the journey with someone else. Lenya's five years of life on this earth continues to be impacting and powerful even though she is now with Jesus.

Best book to understand suffering in life

Levi Lusko gave an excellent explanation in this book about how to keep loving God in the mid sufferring and how to trust God 100% in the difficult situation. Best book about how to deal with pain and lost I have ever read. It encourages me personally and gives guidance how we suppose to live Christian life. Highly recommended!!

One of the best books you'll read

This is one of the best books you'll read. You will be crying along with Levi as he recounts the story of his daughter's tragic death and then you will be rejoicing along with Levi as he recounts the faithfulness of our Heavenly Father.
